Reflecting on 2014

Being sick gave me a chance to rest and do some self-reflection.  I realized that I am no superwoman and I need to accept my limitation as a human being.  I also realized that 2014 was a lot of firsts.  Out of 9 firsts, I will share with you the first 4:

1) First time to invest in real estate.  I never imagined myself buying a property (read more in my previous blog https://wengfeliciano.wordpress.com/2014/05/16/finally-i-took-the-plunge/).  Now after making that leap in May, I am thinking of the “rent to buy” condo in Mandaluyong City that Mr. Daniel Alleje (son of Mr. Noli “El Subastahero” Alleje) talked about in the seminar that TGFI organized last Nov.  Let’s see…  I need to make inquiries of the cost of the unit and then I need to do the math.

2) First time to do an outreach program in Visayas (outside of Luzon).  It was challenging and a test of faith because I couldn’t have a handle on everything.  In  Luzon, I was able to do a proper cost estimation and personally buy or delegate it to my parents to buy the stuff we needed for the outreach program.  (https://wengfeliciano.wordpress.com/2014/03/11/buligtacloban2014-an-eye-opener-part-1-of-thoughts-about-the-outreach-program/,

3) First time to invest in my health by going to a chiropractor on a regular basis.  I must say, among my investments in 2014 this has the most significant pay-out.  Don’t get me wrong.  I still get sick but I feel more balanced now and have a better time adjusting to the pressure in my ears due to altitude changes.  Before, even going down from Tagaytay, I had difficulty in the pressure in my ears.  Now, even plane landing is a breeze and I don’t need to pre-equalize before the plane descends.

4) First time to study Supply Chain (SC) seriously by enrolling in the Coca-Cola University program.  I never really formally studied SC and this program helped me to look at the bigger picture to include Maintenance, Safety, Environment, Sustainability, Business Continuity Planning and Liquid Food.  (https://wengfeliciano.wordpress.com/2014/09/21/august-2014-a-very-busy-month-of-learning/)

I will continue with the next 5 firsts in my next blog.  Stay tuned 🙂
